For the first time ever, Idaho has won the USA Gymnastics Regional 2 Championship that took place in Corvallis, Oregon this past weekend.

The Championship featured six states including Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, and Hawaii. Local gymnast, Hannah Milne, represented Idaho and Teton Indoor Sports Academy along with seven other gymnasts who also qualified to represent Idaho in bracket level 8. She scored a 9.5 out of 10 in all three of her events. TISA Head Coach, Cheri Milne was excited to see so many of her athletes qualify for the championship, especially graduating senior Jordan Reid who had the best meet of her season.

“The state meet went really well for our girls,” said Coach Milne. “It was an amazing experience and was treated like a collegiate meet in terms of scoring. Many of our girls podiumed in the top six.”

Participating in the Region 2 Championship and helping Idaho get the win was the icing on the cake — a terrific ending to a great season according to Milne.

TISA is dedicated to building competitive programs that instill confidence within each athlete, helping them perform to the best of their ability. Confidence was certainly not lacking in the individual performances on Sunday. Among several other accomplishments, Hannah Milne placed second overall amidst steep competition. The atmosphere was intense, but encouraging.

“There was so much enthusiasm and team spirit,” said Coach Milne. “We were represented so well and are already looking forward to next season.”
