Tough lose against North Fremont brings renewed sense of purpose for football team
Last Friday night Teton lost in a disappointing match up against North Fremont 56-16. But spirits are not deterred, said Head Coach Brody
Birch this week. With the first day of school starting and three home games ahead of Teton, the team is focused and ready to take on West Jefferson (1-1) this Friday starting at 7 p.m.
“We didn’t play our best, and we all have played better games,” said Birch of last Friday evening. “We all struggled as a team.”
Birch said that right out of the gate the Huskies capitalized on a few key mistakes that put their opponent on the scoreboard early. Birch said the team settled down later in the game finding their footing, but it was too late to catch North Fremont.
“Other than our ego, this didn’t hurt us,” Birch said. “We’re a really good football team. We just tied into a buzz saw and when that happens, you can’t afford to make mistakes.”
Teton takes on West Jefferson this Friday, Sept. 7 at home starting at 7 p.m. Homecoming is the following week, Friday, Sept. 14 against Salmon High School and senior night is at home on Friday, Sept. 21 against Delco.
