Amy Dery of Alta Realty met actor Channing Tatum on Saturday at the Grand Teton Vodka Distillery.
On Sunday morning, photos started spreading on social media that a Hollywood celebrity made a visit to Driggs. While undoubtedly this sleepy valley occasionally gets a star stopping through to ski, land a jet or take in the scenery, few hang out with the locals.
Apparently that’s what Channing Tatum, who’s starred in such films as “Magic Mike,” “22 Jump Street” and “Foxcatcher,” did.
First he made a stop at a shareholders meeting at Grand Teton Distillery. Amy Dery and her husband own a share of the company and she said Tatum came by while they were at the meeting and got a tour.
“He was incredibly nice,” she said. “I had no idea how well known he was.”
At a Dec. 16 Driggs City Council meeting regarding water service to the distillery, GTD owner Bill Beckett said Tatum had an interest in investing in the distillery. GTD is a craft distillery making potato vodka.
After getting a photo with Dery at the distillery, apparently he then made his way to Warbirds.
“So…Channing Tatum is at Warbirds right now. FYI ladies, go crazy, right, about, now,” read one post to Facebook at 7:08 p.m. on Saturday.
From there he made his way to The Royal Wolf in Driggs where he reportedly ran the pool table for a couple hours with some locals. Supposedly he went unnoticed at first.
Someone else captured a photo of the chalkboard in the men’s restroom that read “Who is Shanning Tatum?”
Teton High School senior Emily Dierkson snapped a selfie with the heartthrob.
“He was just hanging out with us,” she said. “He seemed to really enjoy being normal for a night.”
Tatum made his way from Teton Valley back to Los Angeles, as he was a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday night.
