I am writing this letter in support of Jodi Stiehl’s candidacy to the Fall River Rural Electric Cooperative (FRREC) Board of Directors. Recent articles attempting to connect FRREC to wildlife safety as it related to Mrs. Stiehl’s candidacy are far reaching at best. Mrs. Stiehl is a natural born Canadian who has undergone the painstaking process to become an American citizen, has worked for the Idaho State Park Department for Harriman State Park, is a successful business partner at TroutHunter in Last Chance, is a farmer, bee keeper, honey producer, gardener and a driven, self-motivated, go-getter extraordinaire. And not to be forgotten, Jodi is a devoted wife and mother. In her spare time, Jodi helped to found, and is the president of, Friends of Harriman State Park. As a direct result of her efforts, awareness of a massive issue facing the park was brought to public attention and more than $300,000 in funds were raised to rebuild the 170-foot, mid-ranch stock bridge. Jodi represents the growing number of diverse residents of our district that are directly impacted by the recreational nature of our area’s economy. She will bring a unique perspective and a reasonable, progressive voice to the FRREC.

My wife and I have maintained a seasonal presence in both Island Park and Teton Valley since 2007 and have each operated our own business in that area since that time. Erin maintains her own interior design firm, and also serves on the Victor Design Review Committee, The Victor PlaceMakers, and is the administrator for both the Victor and Driggs Urban Renewal Agencies. I am a fly fishing guide and have been affiliated with TroutHunter seasonally since 2007 and a snowmobile guide with Togwotee Adventures in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the winter months. I have known and worked closely with Jon Stiehl since 2007, and first met Jodi in 2010. They exemplify the type of community members around whom I want to raise my children. I trust that Jodi would help to steer the FRREC in the right direction for years to come.

Patrick and Erin Gaffney, Victor
