Our community boasts proximity to some of this nation’s most spectacular natural resources. We are a people who work hard to play hard, and for those who are lucky enough to live here we are proud to call Victor home. All of us should be deeply invested in Victor’s continued well being.
At our fingertips we have winter and summer activities and unbeatable access to water, trail systems, forest service and national park lands. Access to fishing, mountain biking and skiing is some of the best in the country. Parades, festivals, Music On Main, our epic ice rink, and our new school are but a few of the amenities that make Victor one of a kind. Living in and enjoying all this incredible community has to offer with my wife Greta, and our daughter Finley, has led me to want to give back. Accordingly, I am writing today to announce my campaign to become the next mayor of the city of Victor.
I have witnessed firsthand the difficult decisions elected officials face, and why it is so important to implement a long range plan and strategy that aligns with our vision. I have been involved with many facets of city planning for the past eight years. I spent the first half of my tenure working on the City Planning and Zoning Committee and Urban Renewal Agency; the last four years I have served as an elected City Councilman.
In recent years our city has had many accomplishments, all intended to be consistent with a priority of implementing a comprehensive plan, land use map, zoning and design standards for Victor. This is no easy feat for a small town. Many citizens, city staff, and elected officials have spent a tremendous amount of time away from their homes and families to help achieve these successes, and I am grateful for their contributions.
This upcoming election comes during a key transition time for our city. We all know that Victor is experiencing fast paced growth thanks to our proximity to the national parks and our appeal as an all season recreational destination. We know we are faced with continued growth and development. It is vital to keep the city working toward a long range plan that is well thought out, and sustainable. Victor will grow but how we proactively shape and control that growth is of the utmost importance. Based on my experience thus far, I believe that continued strategic, well thought out long range planning is the answer. NEVER growth just for growth’s sake, but always with an eye for preserving and maintaining Victor’s one of a kind small town ambiance and feel.
If chosen to serve as your mayor this fall, I pledge to use my very best efforts to ensure that as we grow we will never jeopardize nor lose the special small town feel that we all cherish. I look forward to this journey and would be honored to receive your support in November.
