A big thanks to the USDA Forest Service crew for their hard work in doing controlled burns on our slopes over the past week. This is such a benefit to the landscape and the animals that will find new growth in these burned areas in the spring. I am grateful for the care and expertise that these daring people employ to do this as safely as possible. People are quick to place blame when these operations go astray but we should be equally quick to give credit for the many successful burns and all the hard work that it takes to undertake these risky operations. Our local Forest Service crew has been super busy this year with these controlled burns, trail maintenance, major road repairs, and behind the scenes work that help protect the public land that we all enjoy year round. Hats off to our Smokey Bear friends.
