No question: Sponsors of “Teton Valley Cares” get an A+ for their remarkably creative, beneficial back-to-school event conceived specifically for our community’s children! I had the privilege of volunteering last Saturday morning, and I was awed by our valley’s outreach and generosity.

The Community Resource Center partnered with numerous community groups, nonprofits, local health care providers, churches and individuals to make this first time extravaganza a reality. Beyond the important health screenings – physical, dental, hearing and vision [checkups that can catch an impairment before it impacts a young person’s classroom experience] – stylists provided free haircuts, other organizations provided toiletries, backpacks, school supplies, food, and clothing for children who needed them.

We can all take great pride in our community’s dedication to caring for each other. These efforts make our world a better place – no question!
