Loyal volunteers of Teton Valley Community Recycling show off just a fraction of the plastic that has to be gathered to make a Trex bench. Vote now on where to put the four new benches RAD Curbside has donated to the community.

Since March 2021, community members have been recycling plastic bags and other stretchy plastic with Teton Valley Community Recycling’s “Bags to Benches” program, diverting more than 1500 pounds of plastic from the landfill in the first 6 months. Victor Elementary School will be the first recipient of a Trex bench made from recycled plastic bags after successfully collecting a mountain of plastic during the spring.

To celebrate the success of our community plastic bag recycling program, RAD Curbside has purchased four additional Trex benches with the intent of donating one to each of the four towns they service, Alta, Driggs, Tetonia, and Victor.

RAD is seeking input on the ideal public location in each town to place each of the four new benches. Vote online before Friday November 5 for your favored bench locations by visiting and learn more about how to recycle your stretchy plastic.
