Leah (Nielson) Long, daughter of John and Nancy Nielson of Driggs, ID, has received an advanced practice nursing degree from Frontier Nursing University (FNU). Long graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a nurse-midwifery specialty. She currently resides in Waconia, MN, while changing roles from international worker in West Africa to certified nurse-midwife in the United States. She hopes to return home to Teton Valley in the future.
Located in Versailles, Kentucky, Frontier Nursing University has more than 8,000 graduates including nearly 900 in 2021. FNU offers graduate nurse-midwifery and nurse practitioner distance education programs with the student’s home community serving as the classroom. FNU prepares leaders in primary care to serve all individuals with an emphasis on women and families in diverse, rural, and underserved populations.
